Avengers: Endgame: Trailer Review

A glimpse of a green halo over Tony Stark and we immediately get a gloomy feeling, the impending doom has already struck down, and we are transported to the fatal events of the previous movie. Thanos has really wiped out 50% of the universe and the Avengers are shattered; they have been defeated, yet there seems to be a glimmer of hope.

The trailer begins with a monologue from Tony, a message addressed to his beloved Pepper Potts, but really a message for all of humanity to hear. He had been beaten by the all-powerful Thanos and despite all their attempts, they failed to defeat him. He is seen stranded in space, an unknown region, adrift and desolate. His means of sustenance are finished and the air is running out as well, it will only be a matter of time before his terrible demise occurs.

The trailer then takes us to earth, where the consequences seem to be dire, and we see a sullen Steve Rogers lamenting the death of his brothers in arms, and more. However, it’s not just Steve; we see a very distraught Bruce Banner and Thor, each of whom is thinking about the next course of action.

The scene then skips to various other characters, and we finally get a glimpse of Hawkeye, who has now taken up the persona of Ronin. Now The Black Widow and Captain America are discussing a plan, which the Widow is certain is going to work. The Captain has his doubts, but he is fully behind the plan. The final scene is where the real shroud of mystery lies, we see a very energetic Scott Lang, better known as the Antman, who is shouting at the camera, requesting permission to let him in. The reason the scene carries such momentous value is that in the premise to the movie, he is seen stuck in the quantum realm. His escape brings about some much-needed answers and perhaps a solution to defeating Thanos and undoing his actions.

5 Sleeping Mistakes That Hinder Your Weight Loss Efforts

What is the secret to losing weight quickly? What’s the relationship between sleeping well and losing weight? Going to bed on time but waking up under-rested and irritable?

Our body is a machine, but even machines need optimum rest; otherwise, they stop working and need repairs. Muscles are capable of intense work all through the day, but if one cannot sleep well, the body is tired, and one can even fall sick! Also, there is a close and astounding relation between sleeping well and losing weight!

We are living in such a fast life these days, even resting quietly is a privilege. All work and no rest cannot only tire you out too much, but it can also inhibit the good effects of the exercise you are doing. If you are not able to lose weight quickly and effectively, the reason is also embedded in your sleep habits.

Are you watching a lot of screens?
Recent studies blame the blue light emissions from computers, laptops, smartphones and the like to be responsible for lack of sleep. This causes staying up later and toppling the sensitive Dopamine balance in the body causing fatigue and hunger too. Any type of blue light causes the release of Cortisol in the body, and this hormone has been linked to weight gain. Avoid screens or any light source which can be responsible for inhibiting proper sleep. All these factors contribute to body’s inability to lose excess weight; in fact, one gains weight due to late night sleeping habit.

– Are you eating your dinner too late?
Eating right before bed can be a disaster. Not only responsible for digestive troubles like acid reflux, poor digestion, acidity and heartburn, but eating late also causes sluggish movement of food through the gut causing over-absorption of fats and carbs, and also, bloating. All these are the causes of weight gain in the body.

– Are you drinking fluids later?
Drinking fluids during the day is excellent for cleansing the system, but fluid intake must be cut down at least a couple of hours before bedtime simply because otherwise one needs to urinate in between sleep and such a disturbance can be a challenge in your weight loss journey. Research shows disturbed sleep due to urination in the middle of the night can cause obesity.

– Are you exercising right before bedtime?
Many people claim that the long walk they take right before sleeping calms them down and helps relax them. This can be counter-productive because exercise releases Dopamine and Cortisol (activity dependent release), and they will keep you up for longer instead of sending the signal to the brain that it is time to wind down. Stop any intense exercise 3 hours before bedtime to avoid this happening and allowing your mind and body peaceful sleep.

– Are you wearing the wrong clothes?
Too tight or uncomfortable clothing while you sleep can be a big factor interfering with sound sleep. This can be responsible for raised body temperatures, disrupted hormones and even nightmares! All these have been directly or indirectly linked to poor weight management, and hence, are responsible for obesity.
One can avoid these mistakes to better their sleep, and hence, improve health and solve weight issues.

Long Distance Relationship

How to Save Your Long Distance Relationship

Amongst the lovey-dovey relationship goals, the long-distance ones are perhaps the most sought after, presently- owing to the highly career driven lifestyle. When everything falls into the right place with the perfectly imperfect person, little do we consider the toll that distance can take on this ‘oh-so-perfect’ relationship! Though it is not the dreamy sequence of your relationship, yet, for some it brings out the strongest bonds while for the rest it’s the rock bottom. Before you term it as the die cast by destiny, or ‘just wasn’t meant to be,’ let us just give it one more try, and not give up all at once. Here’s a short list of relationship goals as well as keys to make it work with your loved one, even staying miles apart.

Expectations are to be clearly stated

Romantic duos have a real rough patch dealing with the expectations of each other. It is still alright and communicable for those staying in the same city, as they can sort it out some or the other way when they meet. In case of long distance relationships, where meeting in person is a once-in-a-while condition, setting the ground rules for a relationship is of prior importance. Each of you needs to clearly know what the other expects. Do make it a point to list commitment at the top of your priorities, as this can be the only way to reassure your partner that it is always meant to be.

Less is more

happy couple

As far as communication is concerned, do remember that less is more for a long-distance relationship. Calling up every now and then may not always be the gesture that you miss your loved one, instead, it can turn out to be over-imposing your partner with possessiveness. You got to be creative while you talk, otherwise after a long day at work, your partner might not feel like only answering a queue of ‘How’s’ and ‘Why’s’. Yet again, don’t keep it as a loose end, where one feels neglected or taken for granted. It has not to be long phone calls every time, try recording a short video or audio clip saying about your new place or simply that you miss her. Greeting each other at the mornings and nights are never counted as cliché or sticky and a love-struck gesture instead.

Talk it out

Be it the socializing plans at the new city, or be it the much deprived of sexual feelings of yours- try to talk it off always. It is much obvious that you would have plans of partying and short trips with the new people. Do make sure, you let your partner know about your late-night or trip plans when they are decided. It is really important to not make your partners feel left out, when you are not in the same city or country with them. Even the sex talks are necessary. It is not about getting dirty over phone or texts; sexual attention can keep you both glued to each other at the toughest of situations. It also rekindles the spark and unexpectedly brings the partners closer enough fulfilling their emotional desires.

Try to share your ‘we times’ rather ‘me times’

A key way of staying tuned on the same page is by sharing your leisure hours. It is never the distance that really matters; it is about going an extra mile to make it work. As you may keep busy all day long, for the entire week, not being able to give that attention to your partner, so you need to work it out at the leisure hours. Playing the same game online or watching the same sitcoms or songs in YouTube at the same time washes away the imprints of long-distance.

Other than these few tips, there can be numerous personalized ways to stay glued even when miles apart. Making up plans to visit each other and saving for that is also a way to stay connected rather glued with desires in a long-distance relationship. They say, ‘real gold is not afraid of the test of fire,’ and that it is not always distance behind every break-up on this planet. So, don’t give up on your ‘us’ and work your ‘me’ when you tend to lose hope on your once-perfect part of the world.

Viral Fever in Monsoons: Symptoms, Precautions and Remedies

Viral fever in monsoon can destroy your daily routine and make you immensely ill. Well, every season brings with it a bunch of blues along with a bagful of bouquets. While there are many things to rejoice about, there are some things to be careful about. Similar is the case with the monsoon season. The arrival of rains gives respite from the scorching heat of summer; weather becomes cool, romantic, and colourful umbrellas, and raincoats come out of your closet.

While monsoon season cools down mother earth and fills up dams and rivers, it also opens Pandora’s Box of health ailments and infections. The dampness and humidity in this reason is the right medium for germs to multiply and cause a host of diseases and health problems. Viral fever is the most common illness seen during the monsoon season.

What is a viral fever?

You are said to have a fever when your body temperature rises above normal reading of 98.6 degrees F or 37 degrees C. The rise in temperature is a way of indicating that body’s immunity is compromised, and it is trying to fight off some infections caused by bacteria or virus.
You get a viral fever when the fever is caused by an infection from a virus. There are many types of virus which can attack the body, causing a host of different illness. The implications may range from low-grade fever to more serious diseases like dengue, chicken guinea, etc.

Symptoms of viral fever

Symptoms range from mild to severe depending upon the category of virus causing the infection. However, general symptoms include:

1)  Low-grade or high-grade fever
2)  Chills
3)  Nausea
4)  Aches in body parts like the legs, hands, joints, etc.
5)  Vomiting
6)  Headache
7)  Dizziness
8)  Sweating
9)  Inflamed tonsils
10) Running nose
11) Congestion in throat
12) Sore throat
13) Coughing
14) Sneezing
15) Rashes on skin
16) Diarrhoea
17) Loss of appetite
18) Weakness
19) Dehydration
20) Burning in eyes

Not all the above symptoms occur together. A person may exhibit only a few of these symptoms when infected.

How does it spread?
Viral fever is rampant during monsoon season because it offers the perfect weather to breed and multiply germs. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, they expel droplets carrying the virus into the atmosphere around them. When a normal person breathes this air, he gets infected with the virus. This is how viral infection is spread from one person to another.

When a person is down with viral fever, the symptoms take a toll on his health. The tremendous weakness and unbearable body pain affect the routine. There is also the risk of spreading the illness to other family members. So, it is always better to take precautionary measures and keep yourself safe from viral fever.

Precautionary measures

If you have already contracted the infection, avoid spreading it to other people. Cover your mouth and nose with a clean handkerchief while coughing or sneezing.

To reduce the chances of getting sick this monsoon, follow these tips:
Always wash your hands with disinfectant after coming in contact with an infected person.
Wash hands thoroughly before eating.

1)  If there is a sick person at home, clean floors, door handles, towels, and bed linen using disinfectant soap.
2)  Avoid going to crowded places. If it is necessary to go, cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief.
3) Avoid having food in open areas.
4) Drink enough water and keep yourself hydrated.
5) Avoid getting drenched in the rain.
6) Use sanitizers to clean hands while travelling.
7) Exercise daily. It makes your body fit and helps combat infections.
8) Take enough rest and sleep for 7-8 hours. Sleep deprived body is immunity compromised.
9) Keep the surroundings clean.

Home Remedies to Combat Viral Fever
There are certain home remedies you can follow to pep up your immunity and keep infections at bay:

Turmeric: Turmeric milk or more popularly called as “golden milk” is touted as the saviour of infections in general because it is a great immunity booster, anti-inflammatory and has anti-microbial properties.
Basil (Tulsi): Basil has antiviral properties, which can prevent as well as help in curing viral fever. You can chew on basil leaves directly or brew a tea out of it.

Coriander seeds: Known to be rich in essential vitamins and phytonutrients, coriander seeds are excellent to ward off infections as well as treat them. You can make a tea of these seeds or simply mix with water and drink.

Fenugreek seeds: Soak fenugreek seeds in water and let it remain overnight. Drinking this at regular intervals will give you relief from viral symptoms.

Ultimately, the key to good health is good food, exercise, and enough rest. If you notice the above symptoms persisting, please visit a doctor and get treatment to avoid complications.
